Acceptance of terms

By using CleanBG you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

What CleanBG is

CleanBG is a free web tool that removes the background from images. Processing happens entirely in your web browser; the site delivers the web page and the machine-learning model files, and your device does the rest. There is no account, no quota and no paid tier.

Your content

You keep all rights to the images you process. Because images never leave your device, we do not receive, store or license them in any way. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to use and edit the images you process.

Acceptable use

Do not use CleanBG to create content that is illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or is intended to harass, deceive or harm others. Do not attempt to disrupt the service, scrape the model files at scale, or circumvent rate limits on the content delivery network.

Open-source models

The models used by CleanBG are released under the MIT license by their respective authors (see the model credits on the privacy page). HEIC decoding on some browsers uses libheif under LGPL-3.0 (licenses). Output quality depends on your image and your device; results are provided "as is".

No warranty

CleanBG is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or produce results suitable for any particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CleanBG and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Changes

We may change these terms or the service at any time. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
